Did you know that Franklin Mars invented the Snickers bar?

Franklin Mars was born in 1882 In Minnesota. Although you wouldn’t expect it, it was Mars who invented the Snickers. He started the Mars Candy Factory with his second wife, Ethel V. Mars, in 1911. They sold fresh, self produced candy. Unfortunately, the venture failed due to strong competition. In 1920 he moved to Minnesota and founded Mar-O-Bar Co., where he began to produce chocolate candy bars. He introduced his sons idea in 1923. It wasn’t until 1930 that he developed the Snickers Bar. Snickers where named after the favorite horse of the Mars family.
